What's the difference between Oxide and Stain sprays?

Stain spray is dye-based ink, the pigment is in the liquid itself. The sprayed color is absorbed into the porous paper and dries quickly. Oxide spray consists of both pigment and dye ink. The pigment ink remains on the surface of the paper and makes the color more opaque, but dries more slowly. Stain colors are brighter and more even when dry. Water can be used to create a bleached effect. Oxide colors are more chalky, and water can be used to create a rusty, oxidized effect.
